Arabic Writing Functionality is Now Available on Instagram

...but only on Android
Instagram, Update, Arabic, Functionality

A number of notable personalities from the UAE's arts community crowd assembled in Dubai's Alserkal Avenue last night to mark the launch of the new Arabic writing update on Instagram.

Before you all get too excited, it's worth noting that unfortunately, the new functionality has only been launched on Android devices, with no word yet as to whether iPhones will be receiving the new addition.

Those of you that this includes, however, can avail of this nifty right to left (RTL) Arabic text feature by selecting the settings tab on your profile and tap “Languages” to choose Arabic, Hebrew or Farsi. Your app will then update to read from right to left, also.

Mike Krieger, Instagram's co-founder commented: “I'm proud of our efforts to make Instagram one of the most inclusive and diverse platforms in the world. With this update we hope even more Arabic speakers are able to use Instagram to connect with the people and interests that matter to them.”
