Social media addicts around the world wish Instagram would implement an official “Regram” button within theplatform. While we aren’t sure if that’s going to happen any time soon, the photo-sharing app is opening up to making life easier for its users.

Yesterday, Instagram confirmed to TechCrunch that it’s testing a new sharing option. Users may soon be able to repost public feed content, posted other users, to their Stories. Commentary and overlaid stickers may be added to a meme, a celebrity’s post or a friend’s image.

Essentially, this could be a good thing for individuals who are struggling to come up with fresh content. The new feature is currently being tested by small pool of users, but it seems like a natural next step for Instagram.

“We’re always testing ways to make it easier to share any moment with friends on Instagram,” Instagram said.

And what about users who don’t want their public posts shared by other individuals?

If the new Stories sharing feature is a go, it will be very easy to disable. All users will have to do is log into their Settings and turn off the ability for others to reshare their content, if they don't want strangers reposting their images.

While we think a built-in sharing feature for Stories is a good idea, users' can still achieve the same results by screenshotting other accounts' content – and then posting that content in their Stories. The new feature may make life easier for some fans, but as long as we have the ability to screenshot, it isn't something that urgently needs to be implemented.
