Snapchat is Bringing Back The Old Snapchat

Time to get back on the Snap...
by @Laura Andrea Kell

Snapchatters, we got excellent news for you.

Story-sharing platform has made plans to change its new update, get rid of its algorithm and to bring back the old Snapchat.

According to Adweek Snapchat has begun updating its iOS app so that snaps and chats will once again be in chronological order. The company also plans on moving conversations with friends back to the original right-hand side of the screen and will ad a new subscriptions feed to make it easier to follow content creators, publishers and shows.

For months now, Snapchat fans have been begging the platform to roll back the new update in favour of its former version.

“We learned that combining watching Stories and communicating with friends into the same place made it harder to optimize for both competing behaviors,” Snapchat Founder and CEO Evan Spiegel said.

“We are currently rolling out an update to address this by sorting communication by recency and moving Stories from friends to the right side of the application, while maintaining the structural three changes we have made around separating friends from creators and sorting friends’ Stories by relationships.”

Either way we know this new "update" will make some Snap fans very, very happy.
