It’s official!

YouTube sensation and all-round #girlboss Lilly Singh has become the first woman to host a late-night show on a major network.

According to Singh, "A Little Late with Lilly Singh" is expected to debut on NBC this fall.

She shared the good news in an interview on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

The show is to take the 1:30 am (ET) slot in place of the existing Carson Daly show. Daly himself expressed no hard feelings in a tweet congratulating Singh.

The vlogging sensation who has over 14 million subscribers on her YouTube channel, IISuperwomanII, will be the first woman and person of Indian descent to host a late-night talk show.

Based on reports by NBC and Singh’s own statements, the show is expected to retain her unique brand of entertainment. She is also slated to be an executive producer of the show, which is the norm for most late-night hosts.

Singh landing her own show on mainstream television is clear proof that independent content creators are in high demand, especially when it comes to bridging the gap between traditional media and digital landscapes. And her joining the NBC family is expected to only increase viewership, especially among the Millennial and Gen-Z demographic.
