Conor vs Floyd is Happening and the Reaction Online Is as Crazy As You’d Expect

We’re excited
Trending, MMA, Boxing

After over a year of back and forth (and a ton of trash talk), that felt like more like an eternity, UFC’s own Conor McGregor will finally be going up against ''retired'' boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.

The fight was made official on Wednesday and will take place on August 26th in Las Vegas. For anyone following, this is no ordinary fight, not only are we talking about arguably the best in the business on both sides but no doubt the biggest draws in their respective sports and perhaps the most polarizing. The best part, neither of them hold back in and out of the ring, expect loads of verbal barbs en route to the day.

Didn't take long for Conor to take his first shot, posting a picture with Mayweather Sr., alluding the hall of fame boxer's age. Oh boy...

As expected, from the pros, pundits, to casual fans, the internet exploded with a range of emotions, from excitement and optimism to rage (with a touch of saltiness).

Conor's arch rival, Nate Diaz got in there, throwing shade on both fighters.

It's gonna be a good fight for that #2 spot.

The Reem is on board!

A little post-NBA Finals meme. One can only hope it will be more exciting *sigh*

Tough one to beat

And Of course, there has to be...that guy

The fight’s been subject to a lot of criticism, as purists don’t believe this will be a close fight or should even happen given Floyd's 49-0 record and Conor's 0-0 record in boxing.

One thing for sure, whether you’re on board or not, you will be watching and they know it.
