Reem is a software engineer with a passion for music, while Barbary is a freelance writer with a love for photography. Together, they enjoy exploring new places, trying new cuisines, and spending quality time with each other. Their relationship is built on trust, respect, and mutual admiration, and they inspire those around them with their unwavering love and devotion to each other.
After quitting their full-time jobs, Reem and Barbary talk to us about why they quit, what their content creation income is spent on and what it’s like working with your partner.
How did your content creation journey on social media begin?
It started around 3 years ago, Barbary posted a video compilation of him pranking me, and
it went viral pretty quickly on FB. We were not taking social media seriously at all at that time because we both were working full-time so it was all just for fun. We were posting random stuff every now and then but we were more focused on our jobs. Then during Covid, we had a lot of free time so we began to actively put in the effort to create content and we started our Youtube channel. We enjoyed it so much and we got much positive feedback since then we started to commit to it and consistently create content on Youtube,
Instagram, Facebook, and Tiktok.
When did you start to see a source of income stream from the content you were creating?
We started to see a source of income during the year 2020 but it wasn’t enough to make
us give up our full-time jobs. We continued to work alongside creating because we enjoyed making videos together and it became a hobby.
What do you do with the funds that you make on your channel? Where does it all go?
We mostly use it for traveling! We love to travel and we spent most of our money on
traveling and exploring new countries.
How do you balance social media and your mental health? What would you advise others on this topic?
We make sure we never shoot while we are not mentally ready. If we are not in a good
mood, we take a break, and we don’t push ourselves to fake emotions. The best advice
on this topic is to be genuine and real. If you are not genuine, your followers can really tell so it’s better not to film when you’re in this state – also you won’t feel yourself either so why put yourself through the whole ideal?
What is your favourite video that you have made so far and why? (Share the link
with us)
We have a lot of favorite videos but this is the most one we had fun shooting:

Name 3-5 content creators you would love to collaborate with.
There are many talented influencers in the region that each differentiates from one another. However, we would love to collaborate with Ghaith Marwan, Khalid and Salama, Abo flah, and Osama Marwa.
What do you think of influencers in the region? Why do you stand out?
There are a lot of influencers that inspire us and put a lot of effort to create good content.
But honestly, we don’t focus on or compare ourselves to other content creators as it might
affect our originality while creating our own content. I think what we really stand for is
being genuine and real, we are who you see on social media, of course, we only share what
we want which is like 10% of our life but it’s always real.
How does making content together impact your relationship? Does it make you stronger as a couple or is there sometimes conflict?
Since we both enjoy creating content, it made us more connected because we are both
doing something we love together. If there is a misunderstanding we make sure we resolve
it first so it won’t get personal. Now we have this rule to not get personal while we are
working and try our best to separate our personal life from our work life.
