A year after its launch on iOS, Clubhouse has finally launched the beta-version of its app across all Android devices. The Android app is currently available for users in the United States and will soon be available to users in other English-speaking countries.
Clubhouse initially revealed its plans to launch the app on Android in March – after a huge spike in user demand. The beta-launch of the Android app aims to better understand its Android users and to collect user feedback in order to create the most user-friendly platform:
“Our plan over the next few weeks is to collect feedback from the community, fix any issues we see and work to add a few final features like payments and club creation before rolling it out more broadly.”
Android is finally here! You can download the Clubhouse beta right now in the US, & around the world in the coming days/weeks.

Clubhouse revealed its plans to further expand and welcome more users to its platform:
“As we head into the summer and continue to scale out the backend, we plan to begin opening up even further, welcoming millions more people in from the iOS waitlist, expanding language support, and adding more accessibility features, so that people worldwide can experience Clubhouse in a way that feels native to them. With Android, we believe that Clubhouse will feel more complete.”
Now welcoming to the stage… @Clubhouse on @Android!

Clubhouse’s Android launch announcement coincides with a decrease in app downloads across iOS users. According to the analytics company Sensor Tower, the app received 9.5 million downloads in February but only 2.7 million downloads in May. Moreover, other big social media platforms have tried hopping onto the Clubhouse bandwagon – with companies such as Twitter, Discord, and Reddit launching Twitter Spaces, Discord’s Stage Channels, and Reddit Talk respectively in order to compete: It’s safe to say that Clubhouse’s decision to launch on Android could be partially due to the threat of competition.
