Having interviewed many influencers, it is always interesting to hear their stories of what they wanted to do compared to what they actually do. These success stories are here to inspire you and motivate you to continue what you do and see where your journey ends up, like Scarlett Rose for example. Scarlett told us she wanted to be a businesswoman, but instead ended up becoming an influencer traveling the world with 960K followers on her Instagram. Now that she pursues her full-time passion for uploading content, she shares with us how she does it, what makes her stand out from the rest, and what we need to pack as part of our travel essentials!
Tell us your story about your relationship with social media. Where did it start?
I had no plans of ever being in this industry. When I was in college, I won Miss Goa and that’s where it all started – like it was written in the stars. From winning Miss Goa to winning a reality show MTV Splitsvilla, to acting in various TV shows and hosting my own show for MTV. After 10 years, I am now a full-time influencer, shuffling between Dubai and India.
What content did you see your audience reacting with more? How did this impact your content planning?
My audience is diverse and comes from India, United Arab Emirates, the United States, Asia, Europe, etc. So everything works but travel, lifestyle, and fitness are what work the best on my profile. I don’t plan too much because I like to keep my content real, so I just shoot something every day.
How many places have you traveled to and which one was your favourite?
I’ve traveled to Spain, Italy, Paris, Hungary, Amsterdam, UAE, Singapore, Macau, Austria, Sanya Island, China, Seychelles, Thailand, Maldives, Luxembourg, Germany, and Belgium. My favourite places are Europe & Dubai.
What makes your Instagram page pop or stand out from the rest?
I have always been very real on social media. I speak about “Body Positivity & Loving yourself no matter what colour, race, or size you are.“ I want to spread happiness, and positivity and motivate others to follow their dreams because if I can do it, then anyone can.
How do you plan your content? Do you just go with the flow or do you plan everything you’re going to post/film?
I have a content calendar. Before every shoot, I meet my team, we create a plan, a mood board, and fittings and then execute it. Unless I’m shooting personal content, then I go with the flow and let my creativity take over.
What do you think of Instagram Reels? Did it help your page or do you prefer normal/longer video content?
Instagram reels have made content creation more visually appealing and viewers engaged. It has definitely helped creators and brands reach out to more people. In today’s world people’s attention span is dwindling so shorter video content works better.
Which feature would you really like your favourite social media platform to launch to help you and your content reach more people?
Instagram should come up with a feature to connect followers with their creator & personalise it.
What are the 3 things your content must have before you click post?
I make sure it’s visually appealing, it’s high-resolution quality and it’s something my followers will like.
Give us some tips! What are some travel essentials you must pack when you go on a trip?
Always carry a camera to capture memories, a good perfume, cute clothes, swimwear, and an extra phone with space.
What is the next place on your travel bucket list?
I want to travel to the Amalfi Coast and Lake Como in Italy. I’ve heard so much and seen so much online that now I want to see it in real life. Hopefully, I can do this next year in 2024!
What is important to you when going traveling?
When I travel, I like discovering new places, trying out local cuisines, learning a new culture, meeting the locals, and learning new languages. I’m a wanderer who loves exploring.
