Pinterest recently reported its monthly search count, which was last shared with the public in 2016. At that point, the social media giant was facilitating around 2 billion searches every month. In their most recent report, the platform revealed that they now get over 5 billion searches a month on the website/app. This means Pinterest has increased its search volume by 150% in the last five years.
As stated by Pinterest themselves:
“There are now more than 5 billion searches on Pinterest every month. As people prepare for a post-pandemic life, searches for outfits, vacations, and home renovations are at all-time highs, and searches for weddings have presumed pre-pandemic levels.”
The platform falls far behind sites such as Google, which allegedly gets around 3.5 billion searches every day. However, for a search engine that has a fairly specific purpose, it has done extremely well.
Recently, Pinterest was labelled “Creator Platform of the Year” by Adweek for their new Creator Code that ensures content is “inclusive and positive.”Â
