The fashion industry isn’t afraid of embracing new digital trends – especially if it’s going to get people tweeting.
And in 2015 they had models snapping selfies of themselves at the end of the catwalk…
Â
But this past week at Milan Fashion Week, designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana took tech and fashion to a whole new level.
On Sunday the designers sent out a fleet of drones modeling handbags, before models stormed the runway in their Autumn/Winter 2018 collection.Â
According to Fashionista, audience members were asked to turn off the Wi-Fi on their phones, along with personal hotspots before seven drones flew out showcasing jewel-embellished red, white and black purses.Â
Naturally, the audience took to Twitter to share what they witnessed…

Dolce & Gabbana isn’t the first design house to send the latest in trends down the runway. Back in 2012, New York City-based designer Diane Von Furstenberg had models sporting Glass by Google goggles at her spring 2013 show.
While we don’t think drones will be replacing human model any time soon, Dolce & Gabbana certainly caught the Internet’s attention.
