Facebook is bringing reels to its app

Will Facebook’s Reels have the same features as Instagram’s Reels? Find out here!

Facebook is bringing reels to its app

On August 19, Facebook began testing its short-form Instagram video feature Reels on its main app among U.S users. The social media firm earlier tested the feature in other countries such as India, Mexico, and Canada.

Facebook revealed that users can create Reels on the platform by clicking on the “Create” button in the Reels tab. Upon tapping the button, the platform will provide users with a series of features that include: the music library, import files option, timer for recording, slow motion and many more:

“Facebook Reels will give Facebook users the ability to create and share short-form video content directly within the News Feed or within Facebook Groups. Initially, you’ll be able to tap a “Create” button from the Reels section that appears as you scroll the News Feed, while you’re watching Reels or by tapping on “Reels” at the top of your News Feed. From here, users will gain access to a standard set of creation tools, including those for video capture, music selection, camera roll import, timed text and more.”

Facebook will also be testing a recommended content section wherein Reels from various users will be featured. Digital creators will be provided with the choice to have their content displayed on the section for other Facebook users to view.
