Travel from UAE to Oman
The Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority announced the operation of the bus service on Tuesday on their official social media channels. The plans for a bus between the two neighboring countries were initially introduced on August 31, and have now become available to all residents.
If you want to travel on the RAKTA bus to Oman but live in another emirate, you can take a RAKTA intercity bus by booking a ticket on the official website, rakta.gov.ae, or on the ‘RAKbus’ app. These intercity bus routes can take a bus to Ras Al Khaimah from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, and Al Ain.

What is the bus route from UAE to Oman?

Ras Al Khaimah bus stops:
- Ras Al Khaimah Bus Station (Al Dhait South)
- Al Rams Area
- Sha’am Area
Musandam bus stops:
- Tibaat Area
- Wilayat of Bukha
- Harf Area

- Wilayat of Khasab
What are the timings of the bus?
The bus service is available only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The bus leaves twice in one day, once at 8 a.m. and another at 6 p.m. from both Ras Al Khaimah to Musandam and vice versa.
How long will the trip take?
According to RAKTA, the bus trip will take around two and a half to three hours.
How much does the trip cost?
For a one-way trip, the cost is 50 Dhs. For a round trip, the cost is 100 Dhs. There is no cost for children traveling under the age of three.
Where can I book my ticket?
There are four available ways to book a ticket. Firstly, from the RAKBus app, which is available for Apple and Android devices. Travelers can also visit the RAKBus website – rakbus.ae, to book a ticket. Additionally, you can also book a ticket in person from the Ras Al Khaimah bus station and on the bus.
What are the visa requirements for traveling to Oman?
UAE residents have to pay a 5 OMR (Dh47) visa on arrival fee for Oman and should also provide a valid Emirates ID and passport. While exiting the UAE border, residents also have to pay a Dh35 exit fee.
