Did you notice the new Instagram “update” yesterday? If you didn’t, don’t worry. You didn’t miss out on much.
On Thursday Instagram rolled out what was meant to be a small test within the platform. The new tap-to-advance style way of browsing supposedly allowed Insta-fans to scroll horizontally. Unfortunately, the test was rolled out to more users than planned and fans were up in arms about the new “update.”
Missed out on the Instagram glitch? EMKWAN shares what the “update” looked like in this video.
According to Variety Magazine Adam Mosseri, Facebook’s new head of Instagram, explained the horizontal-scrolling feature (i.e. the “glitch”) was “supposed to be a very small test that went broad by accident. Should be fixed now. If you’re still seeing it simply restart the app. Happy holidays!”
Breathe a sigh of relief, Insta-fans. This new “update” won’t be sticking around.
“Looks like some people are reporting Instagram reversing the changes,” EMKWAN said in the comments of the video. “It’s still not back to normal for me though.”
