A-List DJ Mick Batyske, formerly known as ‘DJ Mick Boogie’, the stage name which he later ditched, made his ultimate transition from a simple music nerd to the coolest kid in the dorms, after bringing in his turntables and crates of records to work with and make tunes! Fascinated by HipHop and the art of DJing, Mick entertained various gigs from college radio to DJing at parties! Today, Mick has performed at multiple international venues including New York City, Dubai, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Tokyo!
Having performed exclusively for Rihanna, Michelle Obama, Will Smith, LeBron James, Jay Z for his private influencer dinner parties, Twitter’s annual executive retreat, DJ Mick continues to add new titles to his name. Not only does the A-List DJ tune it out for celebrities’ exclusive parties and events, he is also a brand/style influencer, an entrepreneur, a tech investor and a professional speaker!
Due to the lockdown, Mick hasn’t been able to DJ for events or parties since February and finds it rather “strange” and “pretty intense”, considering he has been entertaining crowds since he was 18.
Ever since the lockdown ensued, DJs all around the world have been trying to virtually entertain their audience. DJ Mick, took advantage of the own four walls in his house and began DJing for his listeners in his kitchen! Mick believes the concept of Virtual DJing is here to stay. He reveals how he never tried DJing at home but then proceeded to follow that thought and practice with borrowed equipment!
After sharing his experience of virtual DJing with other famous and upcoming DJs, Mick expresses, “Musically, we’ve never had more fun! You don’t have to worry about the flow or keeping people on the dance floor. As long as you can make them make sense with your hands, that’s all that matters; so creatively, we’re all so much more powered.”
The popular DJ and entrepreneur reveals how DJ Jazzy Jeff is the reason for his own interest in DJing. After years of Mick looking up to DJ Jeff and with them later being acquaintances followed by collaborators, they produced a unique collaboration called ‘Summertime’.
Having a knack for play-on-words with his live-streaming concept called ‘MicksTapes’, Mick Batyske also has his own podcast which is in partnership with Maxim and Fueled by Culture called ‘The MICK Show’ where he interviews an interesting collection of musicians, actors, athletes, CEOs, in hopes of providing a more laid-back look into their lives and business paths so that his listeners can learn key life lessons from them!

Mick finds a silver lining in the occurrence of the lockdown and believes that the unfortunate circumstance due to COVID-19 allows room for reinvention. “It’s always the thing I said I was gonna do when I was done DJing. It just gave me a little more time to focus on them now.” DJ Mick hopes to DJ at least by next year, for an enthusiastic crowd who is ready to indulge in his music!
