5 Ways To Quickly Grow Your Audience

How to build a large following fast as an influencer or creator in 2018
Followers, Audience, Grow Your Audience, Subscribers

Everyone wants more followers and subscribers.

Whether you’re an aspiring Instagram star or YouTube creator, growing your audience should be one of your top priorities. Yes, it’s important to create amazing content, but without a strong following your brand as an influencer won’t flourish.

It’s now 2018 and harder than ever to make your mark on the web. Many people are trying to develop themselves as online personalities – and the competition is fierce.

But don’t worry, there are still some tactics you can use if you’re looking to quickly grow your following. Here are 5 ways to build your audience fast in 2018.

Pay To Advertise Your Content

It might cost you a few dirhams, but it’s worth it.

When you pay to promote a post on Facebook or Instagram, you have the ability to target a specific demographic. This means your content will be viewed by people who are probably interested in your niche market or topic.

Therefore, they will be more inclined to follow your account or subscribe to your YouTube channel if they fall into your target demographic.

Collaborate With Other Influencers

This might be tough, especially if you’re starting out and don’t have a large following. But if you’re able to convince another influencer or creator to collaborate, this can really help to grow your audience.

Try reaching out to other influencers over email, or direct message on social media. Avoid sending generic messages. Never harass someone with multiple emails or messages if they don’t reply. And consider attend industry conferences or events in your area – it’s a great way to network and meet other people in person.

Overall, you’re more likely to have success if you reach out to another influencer or creator that has a similar (or slightly higher) number of followers than your account or channel.

Keep in mind most influencers won’t be interested in collaborating unless it’s worth their time. When you reach out over email or approach someone in person, make it clear how the collaboration could benefit them as well.

Go Viral By Doing Something Incredible

If you’re impatient and want to build a large following fast, you might want to consider trying to go viral.

Many influencers and creators became “internet famous” by doing something outrageous and blogging/vlogging their crazy experience. While pulling a “stunt” might not be for everyone (or on brand with your account or channel), it can be one of the quickest ways to gain more followers.

Going viral is hard, so you’ll probably want to put some thought into your actions (along with some money). Destroy luxury brand items, performing silly acts in public, chronicling any controversial life changes – all of these things can receive lots of engagement from viewers when posted online.

Just make sure you aren’t breaking any laws or putting yourself at legal risk, or harms way (i.e. don't do anything dangerous). And if you are under the age of 18 make sure to have your parents' permission.

Keep It Consistent

It might not seem important, but posting consistently plays a big role in developing an audience. So you’re serious about growing your audience, make a posting schedule and stick to it!

Once you commit to a posting schedule, your followers and subscribers will know when to expect fresh content. And this consistency is key in increasing your number of followers or subscribers.

If you post too frequently, your audience might get overwhelmed and will become uninterested with your content. If you don’t post often enough, they’ll be more inclined to unfollow your account or unsubscribe from your channel.

Most high profile influencers on Instagram post an image (plus a few Instagram stories) per day, and YouTube creators (that don't daily vlogging) upload a video once or twice a week.

Be Original

Remember, content is king! You should always upload and post the best content you can possibly create.

This may require you to put effort (and time, and money) into your images or videos, but if you’re serious about developing yourself as a social media star or the next big thing on YouTube it’s important to be original.

Be original, know your brand as an influencer and let your personality shine through.
