How to watch someone's Instagram Stories without getting caught
Everyone at some point in their digital lifetime has "creeped" another account on Instagram.
Whether it's keeping tabs on an ex-partner, a former friend or your professional competition there has probably been a time when you want to check out someone's Story content... and keep it on the DL while you're at it.
Creeping is easy to do, providing the person you're digitally stalking has their accounts set to public and hasn't blocked you.
The hardest part of Insta-stalking someone is bypassing the Instagram Story viewer list and NOT getting caught while watching Stories. (Because unintentionally tapping on someone's Stories is almost as bad as accidentally liking someone's really old Instagram picture.)
So... how can you watch someone's Instagram Stories without them knowing you're creeping on their content? Is it even possible?
Yep, it is.
We've rounded up three different ways you can spy on someone's Instagram Stories without getting caught. Check them out below.
Please note most of these techniques will only work if the account you're trying to creep is set to public and hasn't blocked your Instagram account.
How To Anonymously Watch Instagram Stories on A Computer
This is by far the easiest way to watch someone's Instagram Stories without them knowing about it.
Simply go to storiesig.com, type the account's handle into the search bar and hit enter.
If you’ve spelled the handle correctly it should appear below the search bar (with the account’s profile photo), along with the number of Stories currently visible on their Instagram profile and when they last uploaded a photo or video.
Click on the profile photo and scroll down. You’ll be able to anonymously view all of their Instagram Stories and are even able to save them by clicking the “Download” button underneath each Story.
The best part about this method is that you don’t need to download a third party app or even have an Instagram account in order to view their Stories. And if the account you’re trying to creep has blocked you, you’ll still be able to view and download their Stories.
This method is also particularly helpful for digital marketers, influencers agencies and brands looking to save Instagram Stories directly to their computers for post-campaign reporting and coverage.
How To Secretly Watch Instagram Stories on An iPhone
If you’re not interested in anonymously viewing someone’s Instagram Stories from your desktop or laptop, there’s a way to do it from the comforts of your iPhone.
Simply download Story Reposter from the App Store and log in with your Instagram account details.
In the search bar, type in the account you want to anonymously view. If you accidentally spelled the account name wrong (or aren’t entirely sure of the account’s correct handle), don’t worry.
The app will provide you with a list of accounts that match the keyword you’re searching, so you’re likely to find the account even if you’ve made a spelling error.
Select the account you wish to creep from the list by tapping on the username.
You will then be able to see a folder that will state how many Stories they’ve posted within the past twenty-four hours, along with when they posted their last story.
Tap on it to view individual Stories anonymously, without the account knowing you’re watching their content.
This method will not work if the Instagram user you’re trying to creep has blocked your account. If you’re blocked, consider creating a second Instagram account specifically for Story Reposter or watch their Stories from a computer with storiesig.com.
How To Secretly Watch Instagram Stories on An Android Phone
Looking to creep on another Instagram account’s Stories from your Android phone?
You’ll need to download Story Saver for Instagram from the Google Play Store.
Open the app and sign in with your Instagram account details.
Once you’re logged in, you’ll notice a search icon in the upper right corner. Tap it and type in the handle of the Instagram account you’re trying to creep.
Once their profile appears below the search bar, tap their profile picture to anonymously view their Instagram Stories in a feed format.
If you want to view or watch a particular Story, simply tap on an icon square.
You will then be prompted to either “Repost”, “Save” or “Share” that particular Story.
Hit “Save” and download the video clip/picture to your mobile device.
You will then be able to watch it within your gallery, without the Instagram user knowing you’re viewing their Stories.
Alternatively, if you do want to repost their Story or share it on another platform outside of Instagram, you’ll also have that ability.
This method will not work if the Instagram user you’re trying to creep has blocked your account. If you’re blocked, consider creating a second Instagram account specifically for Story Saver or watch their Stories from a computer with storiesig.com.
Hang on . . . why would you want to watch someone's Instagram Stories without them knowing?!?
There are a number of reasons why someone would want to anonymously watch another account’s Instagram Stories, and it has nothing to do with keeping tabs on an ex or creeping on a crush.
Brands and marketers may wish to anonymously conduct research before approaching an influencer for a campaign – and this includes anonymously researching Stories content. An influencer may want to secretly check out another account’s Stories, especially if they think someone is stealing or copying their content.
And if an individual feels there are being publicly slandered or bullied on another Instagram account’s Stories, they might want to discretely keep a record of the offending content without alerting the account owner.
Knowing how to anonymously view someone's Instagram Stories can be quite useful for a number of reasons.
