The most exciting event in town that is chic, fabulous and celebrates all things fashion, World of Fashion 2020 welcomed its 11th year in absolute style! Harper’s Bazaar Arabia opened their doors to fashion enthusiasts in The Central Galleria at The Mall of the Emirates for the 5-day event from that took place from October 13th to 17th.
Virtually meeting Huda Beauty!
On Friday, Harper Bazaar’s Editor-in-Chief, Olivia Phillips graciously interviewed the renowned makeup artist, beauty blogger, entrepreneur and founder of Huda Beauty Cosmetics, Huda Kattan! Huda’s charming personality truly exudes positivity and brings in a lovely breeze of energy even with her virtual presence.
Huda got candid about all things business, self-love, self-doubt, makeup, inclusivity and leadership. The makeup artist and social media sensation expressed how the COVID-19 lockdown encouraged her to reevaluate her purpose, inspiring her to be better as a mother and as an individual.
At just 12 years old, Huda not only fell in love with the idea of makeup but also realized the power it truly holds. Being a curious person, she obviously explored the world of makeup which eventually got her to where she is today.
“When you have a vision, you can see the start of it, the middle of it and the end of it.”, Huda explains as she passionately talks about going after her dream. “There has to be that little fire inside of you.”, she continued.
Having built an entire beauty empire with her Huda Beauty Cosmetics, Huda is keen on exploring different paths, including content creation as well as a potential Podcast! Realizing that she still struggles with self-doubt, the artist would love to be there for other women by sharing her stories and struggles from her journey, encouraging conversations about embracing flaws and imperfections.
Growing up in the States, the Middle-Eastern beauty influencer turned to makeup which ultimately played a momentous role in increasing her self-worth, inspiring her to accept her authentic self.
With the new “Face Filter Foundation Stick” and other future launches, Huda hopes to let the products do all the talking.

The final day of World of Fashion 2020 kicked off with an on-stage interview with Zeinab Al Hashemi, who created the stunning Swarovski Art Installation which was displayed at the Central Galleria. In the interview, the artists dived into the real inspiration behind the breathtaking masterpiece and let the audience in on her creative journey.
Exploring Christian Louboutin’s A/W Trends!
Fashion and Beauty enthusiast, Presenter and Harper’s Bazaar Contributor, Rosemin hosted the last event on Saturday, where she explored the Autumn/Winter trends in Christian Louboutin’s collection. Yasmeen Seif, Communications Director of Christian Louboutin, along with Rosemin provided an insight into the brand, famous for their unique “red soles”.
Yasmeen expressed how Christian was initially clueless about his passions and proceeded to try sketching where he stumbled upon Roger Vivier, a French Fashion Designer’s book, which truly put him on the right path and ultimately helped him realize his true passion.
Christian Louboutin, greatly passionate about his work, spent a week at the factory in Paris as he was “so dedicated to his craft.”
Yasmeen and Rosemin talked fondly about the A/W collection, describing the range of products that were aesthetically displayed on the stage. They further talked about unique details about the shoes, the importance of owning closet staples and accessorizing and helpful tips on how to style them!
Being able to touch up your makeup anytime with Charlotte Tilbury’s compact makeup studio, a virtual collage display of a collection of eye and lip makeup photos, and fancy refreshments from a classic Ladurée cart, truly brought the event together. With the splendid arrival of fashionable guests, the variety of insightful masterclasses and talks and of course, the stunning ambience, it is safe to say that World of Fashion 2020 ended in style!
