“Savage” Rapper Megan Thee Stallion launched $10,000 Scholarship Funds for Women of Color

“Let’s Get These Degrees Ladies!” Megan Thee Stallion recently launched her “Don’t Stop” Scholarship Fund to appreciate and celebrate women of color who simply don’t want to stop pursuing their higher education!

The Funds from the “Don’t Stop” initiative will entirely be dedicated to supporting women of color who have been constantly marginalized regarding the opportunity to access education.

The 25-year-old American rapper, famous for her hits including “WAP”, “Savage” and “Hot Girl Summer”, is offering valuable scholarships worth $10,000 to any two female students wishing to pursue an associate, bachelor or a postgraduate degree in any field, globally. Interested women who wish to receive the fund can apply on the website by providing personal details as well as details regarding their field and year of study, current institution along with a written essay.

Behind this Scholarship Fund, lies a lot of meaning for the rapper herself. While pursuing a successful rap career and topping the charts with her singles, Megan is also a student, currently working towards achieving her health-care administration degree at Texas Southern University!

The rapper chose to continue studying in honor of her mother, according to Insider. “I want to get my degree because I really want my mom to be proud. She saw me going to school before she passed”, she told People.

Shortly after making her announcement on Thursday October 8th, the artist informed her fans that their heavy interest in the scholarships ended up crashing the website, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “The site will be back up in a few minutes and it is a GLOBAL SCHOLARSHIP so hot girls from all over the world can apply”, Megan tweeted.

Stallion was able to kickstart the Scholarship Fund by partnering with Rap Rotation, Amazon Music’s global hip-hop brand. The Fund is named after her recent single ‘Don’t Stop’ with Young Thug.
