Coach x Champion Use TikTok Stars Clout for Campaign Launch

Wisdom Kaye, Maha Gondal and Jeffrey Tung will lead fans through a series of challenges on the platform.

Coach x Champion Use TikTok Stars Clout for Campaign Launch

Coach and Champion have tapped an eclectic group of TikTok stars to help it launch its new collaboration collection.

Designer collabs are pretty much everywhere. It’s not surprising to hear of an upcoming Simone Rocha x H&M collection, or another round of STAUD x New Balance selling out. That said, a Coach x Champion collab is one we never saw coming— and it couldn’t be more of a 2021-friendly collection to exist.

With last year behind us, many fashionistas are slowly gravitating from the well-worn sweatsuits to loungewear and athleisure pieces that feel slightly more chic. People  aren’t entirely ready to be clad head-to-toe in real clothes as yet but it’s slowly yet surely making a come back! Until then accessorizing dressed-down looks to the max is to balance the lack of effort.

Hence this collection just makes so much sense right now. Coach X Champion.

These brands have quite a bit in common in addition to both starting with the letter C. Coach and Champion are both iconic American brands, and together, they create the perfect mesh of fashion meets function. Ditch last year’s dingy tie-dye sweats for the rocking leather joggers, a logo-emblazoned hoodie and a gorgeous leather bag with the collab’s brand-new Coach x Champion signature clasp.

As reported, the two brands partnered on a limited-edition Coach x Champion capsule that launches very shortly. To promote the new line, TikTok stars Wisdom Kaye, Maha Gondal and Jeffrey Tung as well as model Paloma Elsesser will appear in the campaign, which was directed and photographed by Alessandro Simonetti.

In addition to images of the cast wearing the clothes in campaign images, the marketing plan includes a How to Coach a Champion TikTok challenge featuring Kaye, one of the platform’s most fashionable stars.

Gondal, an advocate of modest style, and Tung, a singer, actor and star of China’s “Idol Producer.”

There’s no way Gen Z fashionistas won’t sell out everything in a matter of hours. The brands have even created the “How to Coach a Champion” campaign on TikTok featuring the collab’s aforementioned famous faces that you, too, can participate in now, whether or not you snag something cute from the drop.

In the campaign, the cast invites fans to participate in a series of fun challenges inspired by Coach’s fashion standing and Champion’s heritage in athleticwear. The challenges will include quick outfit changes by the cast.

Stuart Vevers, Coach’s creative director, described the line as “a collection grounded in the authentic American heritage we share. I was inspired by the idea of elevating sportswear silhouettes in an unmistakably Coach way using leather, shearling and by combining our iconic symbols in a way that feels fresh, youthful and immediate.”

Ned Munroe, Champion’s chief global design officer, added: “To be able to pair Champion’s roots in sport with Coach’s exceptional craftsmanship creates the opportunity for Champion’s iconic styles to come to life through a new and elevated lens.”

The collection will retail for $95 to $2,300.
