Haifa Beseisso releases teaser for new single titled ‘The 3aib Song’

Edited & Revised By Ariana Meyers

Haifa Beseisso – a Dubai-based Palestinian Travel YouTuber – released a teaser for her song ‘The 3aib Song’ on Instagram and Youtube to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8.

Beseisso’s new song is focused on female-empowerment. Beseisso explained on her Instagram that 3aib means “shame” – and exposes how shame manifests in different ways including shaming women to lead life a certain way:

In parallel to the song teaser’s release – Beseisso posted a 9-minute video reel to Instagram – featuring a collection of Arab female women sharing their real life stories. The genuine and authentic discussion that takes place between the women parallels how social media is creating a safe community for women to vocalize their experiences to a wider audience and to not feel alone while doing it.

Beseisso often uses her YouTube Channel – which has over 848k subscribers –  to bring attention to important social issues. Besessio’s video ‘Stereotype world: THE MIDDLE EAST SPEAKS UP!’ is a key example of this and features her busting myths and stereotypes about the Middle East in support of YouTube’s Creators for Change programme – an initiative that inspires content creators to step up and raise awareness on social issues. The 7-minute long video gained over 3 million views and is still Beseisso’s most viewed video to date.

Beseisso’s long list of socially-woke achievements include: co-hosting The Orchestra of Syrian Musicians, participating in the #MoreThanARefugee campaign, and being the first Arab YouTuber at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in 2017. From this – it is clear that Beseisso seeks to establish positive representation within the Middle East and to bring attention to underrepresented demographics.

With her newest song teaser seeming to call out all the inequalities and the injustices that Arab women face, Haifa is yet again using her platform as a positive source for change. If you are as excited for the new song release as we are – make sure to keep up-to-date with Haifa’s Instagram and Youtube!
