TikTok launches multiple content initiatives for World Immunization Week

To celebrate World Immunization Week, TikTok has announced new efforts to raise awareness on COVID-19 vaccines. TikTok has developed a series of educational content that it will release across its platform from April 24 to April 30.

#VaccinatedFor

TikTok seeks to motivate TikTok users to use the hashtag #VaccinatedFor and share their reasons for getting vaccinated. The #VaccinatedFor initiative will be displayed on a user’s Discover page in order to inspire other users to get vaccinated and to instill a sense of safety amongst its community.

WHO, LIVE!

The World Health Organization (WHO) is set to host a live-stream on April 29 – which will feature  Katherine O’Brien – the Director of the Department of Immunization, Vaccines, and Biologicals. O’Brien will share factual information about the safety and security of its vaccines and will also host a Q&A session for viewers.

TikTok has revealed its partnership with the online news agency NowThis to launch their live stream series VIRAL – which aims to bust myths and misconceptions surrounding vaccines. The series will feature scientific experts who will provide evidence on vaccine safety and answer important questions submitted by viewers.

Moreover – to prevent the rise of misinformation on the platform – TikTok’s Coronavirus Resource Hub will be updated with the latest COVID-19 information from the WHO and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Overall, TikTok aims to eliminate Covid-19 misinformation within 24 hours of posting.
