It’s the news we have all been waiting for: Five-time world champion Floyd Mayweather is coming out of retirement to fight the infamous YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul on June 6 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. The new match date – which had been postponed due to Covid – was officially announced by Showtime and Mayweather on their respective social media channels on Tuesday.

The match – which is projected to have over 4 million views in the United States alone – will stream on Showtime pay-per-view and on Fanmio.
Badou Jack “The Ripper” – who is the longest reigning champion on the Mayweather Promotions (TMT) roster – will feature as the co-main event prior to the big Mayweather and Paul match. In the biggest fight of his career, Badou Jack will face WBA Light Heavyweight World Champion, Jean Pascal.
According to Fanmio, specific details on the Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul fight – including the rules, number of rounds, and glove sizes – would be released to the public shortly.
Mayweather retired with an undefeated record of 50-0 and 27 knockouts in 2017 after he knocked out MMA star Conor McGregor in the 10th round of their boxing match at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Mayweather last appeared in the boxing ring in December 2018 – where he destroyed Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in the first round.
Paul’s boxing track record – on the other hand – is not as impressive. Although he recently defeated Ben Askren in a first-round knockout, Paul lost to fellow YouTube boxer KSI in November 2019 after a close split decision.
Will Paul win against junior lightweight, lightweight, junior welterweight, welterweight and junior middleweight title holder Floyd Mayweather? Tune in to watch the match on June 6.
