YouTube set to host their first virtual ‘Beauty Festival’ on May 14

YouTube has announced its first Beauty Festival – which is set to premiere on May 14 at 4 p.m. EST. The live virtual event will host multiple panel discussions on beauty – including its history and the growing diversity within the industry.

The YouTube Original Beauty festival will be hosted by YouTube’s Head of Fashion and Beauty Derek Blasberg. Blasberg revealed that the event aims to celebrate the beauty industry and its major impact on the YouTube community:

“The world of beauty on YouTube is a universe entirely unto itself. What started as a small community has grown into the largest style video platform in the world. We’ve seen creators transform from small-town makeup gurus to become their own media empires. I’m especially excited about the creation of YouTube’s official beauty festival because it gives us the opportunity to spotlight diverse creators, amplify new and unique voices in the space, and usher in a new era of beauty on the platform where it all began”.

Headliners for the virtual event include renowned celebrities and influencers such as Patrick Starrr, Jeffree Star, Emma Chamberlain, Jessica Alba, Miranda Kerr, Pharrell Williams, Millie Bobby Brown, Manny MUA and Nikkie Tutorials. The following panels have so far been confirmed: Wild Gadgets with Emma Chamberlain, The History of Beauty with Michelle Phan, Ask a Drag Queen with the winners of RuPaul’s Drag Race Bob the Drag Queen and Monét X Change, and Black Beauty Founder Roundtable with YouTube’s Head of Beauty Creators Chanel Tyler.

Are you excited for the upcoming Beauty Festival? We definitely are.
