Hulu – an OTT video streaming platform – has released a trailer for the upcoming reality TV series The D’Amelio Show – which will feature TikTok stars Charli and Dixie D’Amelio alongside their parents Heidi and Marc D’Amelio. Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman from the Intellectual Property Corporation will be co-executive producers for the new series.
Belisa Balaban – the VP of Documentaries at Hulu – initially announced The D’Amelio Show in December 2020 and revealed that the series would give an inside look into what it’s really like to be a popular TikTok star and how they handle social media pressure:
“Two years ago Charli and Dixie D’Amelio were virtually unknown outside of their town, and now have over 100 million fans who tune in daily for their every move. Every teen on social media dreams of becoming famous, but what happens when the reality hits?”
In 2019, Charli began her TikTok career with viral lip-sync and dance videos – with Dixie joining TikTok soon afterwards. Since then, the two have become some of the most followed creators on TikTok – bringing them huge business opportunities off the platform, including the launch of their latest clothing line Social Tourist that was produced in collaboration with Hollister.
The D’Amelio Show will also spotlight how the family as a whole deal with their growing fame. Moreover, Heidi and Marc will share how they stay strong as a family and how they support their daughters on their career path.
Dixie stated that the The D’Amelio Show will be a definite must-watch for their fans – especially those wanting to know more about their lives:
“I think the show’s going to be good for the people that support us. I think it’s going to be interesting for the people who don’t know us, and fun to pull apart for the people who hate us. So look out for the D’Amelio show that should be coming out later this year.”
