Ticketed Spaces? Tip Jar? Super Follows? Find out all the new ways Twitter is helping creators monetize on their platform

Twitter to launch ‘Ticketed Spaces’ to help creators monetize content

Twitter has introduced their latest monetization feature Ticketed Spaces – which will be launched soon to creators based in the United States. The upcoming feature will allow creators to host paid live audio rooms that will be accessible to viewers from all around the world.

To access Ticketed Spaces, creators must be 18 years or older, have a minimum of 1000 followers and can show that they hosted 3 spaces within the last 30 days. According to a report from The Verge, a Twitter spokesperson revealed that the feature will initially be tested with a small batch of users and that they will start processing submitted applications within a few weeks.

To build a more secure mode of payment, Twitter has partnered with the financial firm Stripe – who will be taking 20% of the creators income earnings as part of their service charge. The charge will be in addition to Google and Apple’s in-app 30% cut fee and Twitter’s 20% cut. For example, if a creator earns $20, Apple or Google would take $6, Stripe would take $4, and Twitter would take $4, leaving creators only $6 or 30% of the initial $20.

Twitter is on a roll when it comes to introducing new features for their creators and has taken center stage in the competition against Clubhouse. The latest announcement for Ticketed Spaces complements Twitter’s beta-launch of Tip Jar – a feature that allows users to tip other users for their tweets. Moreover, Twitter also revealed its plans to launch Super Follows – a monetization feature that provides exclusive creator content to subscribed users.
