In an attempt to fulfill their mission of becoming the go-to, all-around camera company, Snap Inc has introduced a new Story Studio app – their latest venture into the world of video editing. The iOS compatible app consists of a diverse set of editing tools exclusively tailored for mobile video.

Story Studio will be particularly enticing to creators on Snapchat Spotlight – a TikTok copycat feature that allows users to post short, 60-second viral clips on the platform. Spotlight creators will not only have access to sound effects, stickers, and pre-made captions but AR lenses as well. Story studio will also keep users up-to-date on what’s trending on the platform and will allow them to upload content across other social media apps.
Regarding their short-form video feature Spotlight, Snap Inc. revealed that the feature will soon be launched on web browsers Chrome and Safari by using the link snapchat.com/spotlight. The desktop site will allow creators to upload videos directly from their laptops. Users will also be able to view creator content on the web without having to log into their Snapchat accounts.
