TikTok opens applications for the Support Black Businesses program

TikTok will soon launch a second iteration of the Support Black Businesses program for a consecutive year in a row. The program aims to support and amplify Black business owners on its platform.

The new Support Black Businesses program will be in partnership with American video service firm Vimeo to provide skillful resources to better grow businesses. TikTok will also be assisting owners to better advertise their business on online platforms to generate sales revenue. Participants will be receiving $1000 in ad credits, sessions with TikTok creators, and access to Vimeo’s Business tools.

Harris Beber – CMO at Vimeo – shared how video platforms have been a strong source of engaging content for businesses to grow on:

“Video is the most engaging medium available to businesses large and small to communicate, collaborate and connect. What we have learned from the pandemic is that using video for your business is no longer a nice to have, it’s a need to have. We’re proud to partner with TikTok on Support Black Businesses by providing our tools and expertise to help the participants harness the power of video to build their businesses. Vimeo is committed to supporting a diverse and thriving community.”

Moreover, TikTok has partnered with the accelerator program Talent x Opportunity (TxO) as a strategic partner to support the founders of TxO by providing access to additional tools, network and resources.

Annya Brown – Founder of NaturalAnnie Essentials and previous participant in the program – shared the impact TikTok’s program had in uplifting her business career:

“TikTok’s Support Black Businesses program gave me access to the same marketing strategies used by the largest brands in the world and helped me find fresh inspiration for my content. The best part of the program was interacting with and getting to know the other participants and learning about what they do. It was inspiring and gave us a strong sense of community as we were able to openly discuss our challenges as Black small business owners.”
