Volkswagen launches virtual test drive on Pinterest

As part of the campaign for the new Volkswagen ID.4 electric SUV, Volkswagen is running an interactive, “in-car” experience on Pinterest. The experience can be activated using its unique promoted pin.

Upon activating the pin, clicking on “See More” allows for a 360 view of the inside of the vehicle as it drives.

This is the first of its kind development for Pinterest and tells us a lot about the future of advertising on Pinterest as well as other platforms. According to SocialMediaToday, “It’s a first-of-its-kind integration for Pinterest, which leans into immersive, AR-like experiences, which will eventually become commonplace in all forms of eCommerce and online product discovery.”
