TikTok has announced their latest initiative to celebrate the Cannes Lions Awards 2021 event. The Cannes Lions Awards celebrates outstanding achievements in the field of creative communications, advertising, and more.
TikTok revealed that since they couldn’t make it into the awards category, they hope that the #CreativityForGood helps creators with an opportunity to participate on its platform:
“Since TikToks didn’t quite fit into a specific category within the competition, we decided to give all creators the opportunity to make a positive impact while flexing their creative muscles…The goal of this challenge is to showcase artistry, expressiveness and individuality–much like Cannes Lions does each year–while allowing the TikTok community to participate and highlight their unique vision for giving back. We’re asking participants to think outside of the box, and dream up new, fun, and unique ways to showcase the non-profit of their choosing.”
The #CreativityForGood hashtag initiative highlights TikTok creators’ positive social impacts that include charity events, volunteer work or their random acts of kindness.
Moreover, TikTok has partnered with multiple non-profit organizations to raise awareness on social issues. The organizations that TikTok users can donate to are Malala Fund, It Gets Better Project, IFRC and One Tree Planted.
