TikTok receives the TAG Brand Safety Certified Seal globally

On July 20, TikTok announced that it has secured the TAG Brand Safety Certified Seal across Latin America, Asia Pacific, Russia, Middle East and Africa. The Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG) focuses on safeguarding brands and preventing criminal activity towards online users in digital advertising.

Mike Zaneis, CEO at TAG, shared his support over TikTok’s recent efforts to be certified globally:

“We are pleased to recognize TikTok for taking the steps necessary to extend its TAG Brand Safety Certified status worldwide. By adopting industry best practices to protect its partners and the supply chain from the full range of potential brand safety threats, TikTok is demonstrating its strong commitment to the safety of its growing community and the protection of brands within that community. We look forward to continuing to work with TikTok to raise the bar for other companies across the digital ad supply chain.”

The TAG Brand Safety Certified Program was earlier launched in September 2020, becoming the ad industry’s largest and broadest global brand safety certification program. At the time, TikTok received its TAG Brand Safety Certification for the U.K and expanded its certification to other regions such as North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand in February 2021.

Blake Chandlee, President and Global Business Solutions at TikTok, asserted the firm’s focus on building a platform that ensures security for brands and users across the world:

“TikTok is committed to ensuring that both users and brands have a safe space to express themselves and are always aware of the steps we are taking to make TikTok safe. We’re honored that TAG has recognized our global efforts to build a safer, more transparent and accountable platform. We look forward to building on our partnership with TAG to promote brand safety and improve industry standards.”
