Your guide to creating a TikTok story

Find out about the new 24-hour story feature on TikTok!

Your guide to creating a TikTok story

Similar to Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook, TikTok are now experimenting their latest addition of stories. The stories function will allow TikTokers to go onto their profile page, clicking on the add button on their profile picture and creating a story that will last for 24 hours.

Social media consultant Matt Navarra took to Twitter with screenshots of the TikTok Stories adding the shocked emoji face. Currently, there are mixed reviews of the new feature but it does create a new dimension for the app with more content to create for behind the scenes.

How can I build a community using TikTok Stories?

If one of your goals is to increase engagement on your social media, then using stories may build a greater community for you on TikTok. Unlike the For You Page which shows videos from people you don’t follow; stories are a platform that only your followers can see. This means, those who are not following you will miss out on seeing your content as after 24 hours, the videos will be gone.

There are a variety of videos you can record on stories including behind the scene videos, Q&As, tutorials, and announcements. Let us know what you think of the story feature on TikTok in the comments below!
