Ready for the most adorable (and perhaps impressive) thing you’ll see all week, a video posted by Arlete Arantes from Brazil, shows a newborn baby….walking! Don’t buy it? See for yourself.
I know right….kids defintely ”going places”.
In just a couple days, the video has over 70 million views and 1.6 million shares, and considering baby’s normally take their first steps anywhere between 9-12 months, i’m not suprised.
But…while I don’t mean to rain on the parade, this apparently isn’t a miracle and is actually quite natural. What’s happening here is what the University of Rochester Medical Center refers to as the ‘stepping reflex’.
”This reflex is also called the walking or dance reflex because a baby appears to take steps or dance when held upright with his or her feet touching a solid surface. This reflex lasts about 2 months.”
So there you have it…you can pick your jaw up off the floor now.
While it wasn’t a miracle, it did put a smile on alot of faces (over 70 million of them) as well as a number of comedic Redditers, and nobody can take that away from this baby.
