Most people (myself included) quake at the sound of thunder and lighting, so of all the things that come to mind in the presence of a tornado, yes a tornado, from I don’t know, getting as far away as possible, jumping in your storm shelter, start hating yourself for not building that storm shelter, bet money that mowing the lawn wouldn’t be very high up on the list.
But to each their own I guess, as an epic image surfaced of a man doing just that in Three Hills, Alberta Canada, as a tornado whirled behind him. Yea, you need to see it to believe it.
The image was taken by wife Cecilia Wessels, woken by her nine-year-old daughter who was upset that there was something like a tornado in the sky, but her father wouldn’t come inside. She goes on to say that cutting the grass was on her husband, Theunis’s to do list. Starting to make sense now, he obviously knew where the real threat was.
Just kidding, sure she’s lovely.
Theunis stated “It looks much closer if you look in the photo, but it was really far away. Well, not really far, far away, but it was far away from us,” he said. Oh…okay then.
Both said tornadoes are not common in South Africa, but Theunis claimed he watched the show storm chasers, so he’s familiar with them. *sigh*
Fortunately, nobody was hurt by the tornado according to the RCMP, however there are images of uprooted trees and damage done to one rural property, wherein its roof came off.
