What Went Down at E3 in L.A.

Crazy things were happening at Electronic Entertainment Expo (a.k.a. E3) in L.A. last week.

From Fortnite events to innovative gaming activations the three day gaming extravaganza took place from June 11th to 13th at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Here’s how it all went down at E3.

What you need to know about Electronic Entertainment Expo (a.k.a. E3)

Leading-edge companies, groundbreaking technologies and never-before-seen products were showcase for thousands of attendees through a three day period.

The expo also had networking events where industry professionals, players and creators could connect with one and other.

Fortnite at E3

Fortnite is still as popular as ever. This was very clear at E3, as Epic Games’ massive booth was crowded with over 250 million players wanting to get in on the action.

The stand was one of the most attractive and interactives spaces at the expo with everything from gameplay competitions to challenges, a jump royale, NOMS popcorn, slurp juice and frozen chocolate-dipped bananas keeping the crowd full throughout the three days.

Fortnite’s Summer Block Party

Epic threw an E3 after party in the form of the Fortnite Summer Block Party – a 2-day event hosted at The Forum Inglewood, California.

Day One saw celebrities, content creators and a few lucky golden ticket winners compete in a Creative Showdown tournament, featuring a new community-built game created by Team Evolve (a group of international talented creators).

The tournament was championed by Llama Record Co – made up of CouRage, Loserfruit, Jordan Fisher and their golden ticket player winning charity prize money of $1,000,000.

Outside The Forum, Epic Games created the Fortnite Fan Festival inviting fans to participate in a series of Battle Pass challenges to redeem exclusive merchandise once completed.

Activities included riding on a zipline, zorb baller challenge, rocket rodeo, Nerf blaster challenge, posing for a meet and greet with your favourite Fortnite characters and participating in an on stage emote showdown.

The Pro-Am took place the following day on June 16 featuring 50 of the world’s biggest Fortnite gamers and content creators such as Ninja and Lachlan, alongside 50 celebrities including Xavier Woods (@xavierwoods) and Mohamed Karim (@mk_mohamedkarim).

Teams of two battled it out across four games to be crowned the 2019 Fortnite Pro Am winners, with streamer Airwaks and his team mate musician RL Grime scooping first place and a $1,000,000 charity prize money.

All 50 team walked away with a split of the $3,000,000 prize pool for a charity donation of their choice.
