GITEX Technology Week Kicks Off on Sunday

It’s almost that time of year again where the brightest minds in technology, computer science and innovation meet at the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition a.k.a. GITEX.

The annual trade show, exhibition, conference and networking event kicks off on Sunday, Oct 6 at the Dubai World Trade Center and is a must-attend event for anyone in the technology and digital marketing industry.

We’ve rounded up what we’re anticipating to be some of the biggest highlights of GITEX 2019. Check them out below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

It’s probably one of the hottest topics of the year in mobile technology – and the topic of 5G and “Intelligent Connectivity” will play a starring role at GITEX 2019.

The tech tradeshow will be showcasing the full 5G ecosystem in action across the exhibition, conference, workshops and live demos.

According to the Gulf News “. . . if there is one trend likely to dominate the upcoming GITEX Technology Week, it will be the ongoing development and roll-out of 5G, the next generation, high-speed telecommunications network.”

The news source notes that some of the biggest players in 5G (i.e. Huawei, Ericsson and Etisalat) will be attending press conferences on Oct 6.

With 77% of smart devices featuring AI technology in some form or the other, its presence within our lives will only increase from here on.

GITEX plans to bring together the world’s leading AI technologists, business leaders and academia to share their strategies on succeeding in the new AI-first era.

From workshops to panel discussions, there will be plenty of opportunities for attendees to learn more about the world of AI and how it will affect us in 2020 – and beyond.

Keynote Speakers

This year’s GITEX will see a cracking list of keynote speakers and panelists throughout the conference portion of the event.

Highlights will include Theranos Whistle-blower Tyler Shultz, Endeavor Bozoma Saint John and architectural technologist Iddris Sandu.

The conference portion of the event will be broken down into nine different tracks, ranging from digital marketing to 5G Countdown. Check the GITEX website for more information on how you can plan your conference experience.

GITEX Awards

It will be the first year GITEX will be hosting an awards ceremony.

According to GITEX’s website “. . . the awards will recognise the technological achievements and ambitions of global companies, rewarding the end-users aka disruptors that have implemented the most groundbreaking IT initiatives and solutions.”
