The Countdown To Dubai’s Biggest Event #Expo2020 Starts Now!

12 months to go and people are already going wild

The Countdown To Dubai's Biggest Event #Expo2020 Starts Now!

Mark your calendars because exactly 12 months from now, Dubai’s biggest project yet #Expo2020 will officially begin… but that doesn’t mean the celebration hasn’t already started.

Expo is a six-month long event held every five years at a different global destination. Its aim is to find solutions to challenges humans face based on the year’s theme.

“I am proud of our teams who earned this victory for Dubai with two years of hard work, dedication and commitment,” H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai said, according to The National. “We renew our promise to astonish the world in 2020.”

On 20 Oct, 2020 Dubai will be hosting the first Expo event held in the Middle East and the theme is “Connecting Minds, Creating The Future.”

Millions of people from 190 countries are expected to attend, making it the largest event the Arab world has ever staged.

Tonight, Dubai is celebrating the official twelve months countdown to #Expo2020.

The festivities begin at the Dubai International Airport (DXB) with a literal drum roll. At five pm, twenty drummers from different continents will begin their journey at DXB.

Along the way, they will be collecting passengers and taking them to #musicDXB performance where a live DJ will be playing.

In Burj Park, US best-selling artist Mariah Carey (@mariahcarey) and Emirati Singer (and #Expo2020 ambassador) Hussain Al Jassmi (@7sainaljassmi) will be performing at the “1 Year To Go” concert.

Lastly, for anyone who does not have any tickets to the concert there will be a celebratory light show at Burj Khalifa. The light show will be counting down to exactly 2020 (8:20PM) where it will be precisely a year to go to the next World Expo.

#Expo2020 will bring on a range of events and attractions including make-your-own robot workshops, food trucks from over 200 outlets, sustainability focused workshops, and plenty of live performances.

Tickets will selling on the #Expo2020 website in April with one day passes starting at AED 120. Make sure to be one of the first to book, you do not want to miss this.
