YouTube Rolls Out New Filter Settings

YouTube fans, it’s time to get excited…

YouTube Rolls Out New Filter Settings

It’s a start of a new decade and we are thrilled that the video streaming platform YouTube has a new feature (super exciting btw) for IOS users in particular… for now, we are certain it will roll out eventually for Android users as well.

From the looks of it, it’s sort of like a take on Netflix’s feature “continue watching” in particular. It’s all well and good as long as the experience on YouTube is enhanced for users.

In Subscriptions, the new filters (which YouTube has termed ‘topics’) appear at the top of the column — just below creator’s Stories — in bubble form, enabling users to sort their feeds via a new carousal that comes with six topics and settings shortcut including:

All: Lists of videos from channels you have subscribed to from the very recent to the oldest. This will be the default settings when you log in to the app.

Today: a display of all the videos published within the last 24 hours.

Continue Watching: Deja Vu (Hint:Netflix) ? Feature added to show you videos you started watching, but unfinished.

Unwatched: This shows you videos that you have not watched.

Live: If your interest lies in livestream videos and YouTube Premieres, this feature is for you.

Posts: This shows you Community posts from channels you are subscribed to… sort of like a curated list of videos for you.

Some of these additions include an “Unwatched” feature that lets you know about videos you have not watched.

“During our testing, we saw that these topics encouraged more subscribers to come to their subs feed daily to look for new updates,” as per a YouTube spokesperson.

What are your thoughts on this new feature? Be sure to let us know in th comments
