In October 2018, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched Madrasa (www.madrasa.org), the Arab World’s biggest e-learning platform that provides 5,000 free Arabised videos in general science, math, biology, chemistry and physics to 50 million Arab students from kindergarten to grade 12.
As of March 2020, to further cooperate with the Distance Learning Initiative launched by the UAE Ministry of Education, Madrasa has amplified its free online content to further assist the millions of Arab students who are currently using the tools to continue their education at home or elsewhere while schools have been closed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her Excellency Jameela Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, said, “Implementing the Distance Learning scheme presents a fundamental step that aims to complement the advanced digital infrastructure of the UAE and strengthen the country’s leading position in applying advanced technologies across different aspects of life.”
She added, “The scheme complements modern e-learning that enhances the educational experience of students in different circumstances.”
The exceptional content offered has enriched the regional educational system considerably and proven extremely effecive in terms of accessibility, making the lives of students , teachers and parents easier.
