Instagram Influencers face backlash for 'bragging' about their lifestyle during COVID-19 pandemic

Travel blogging duo Jack Morris (@doyoutravel) and Lauren Bullen (@gypsea_lust) face harsh comments from followers after posting about their quarantine set-up from their home in Canggu, Bali.

Jack posted the below image to his Instagram feed showing off their quarantine situation amid the COVID-19 crisis.

While some fans admired the interiors and commented #goals under the image which shows their gorgeous living room, others slammed him for ‘showing off’ and ‘bragging’ in a time when the world faces a pandemic.

One follower said, “things could be worse, mate,” while another added, “Wow there are different levels of quarantine in the world.”

Perhaps the most savage was, “Sick brag.”

The social media trend of influencers treating the outbreak with humor is not new. In March, influencer Ava Louise went viral for participating in a “coronavirus challenge,” which involved her allegedly licking a toilet seat on an airplane.

Do you think content creators should be more sensitive and filter the content they post during this global crisis?
