Athlete Asma ElBadawi promotes inclusion with new Adidas campaign

Nothing is “I’MPOSSIBLE” with Adidas.

The British-Sudanese athlete is changing the game. Around a month ago, a billboard on Sheikh Zayed Road featured the Hijabi-wearing athlete draped in a beautiful tulle gown that was matched with an Adidas sports top and of course, her majestic hijab.

Asma Elbadawi is a Hijabi-wearing athlete who managed to convince the International Basketball Federation to remove the ban on religious head coverings on courts after two years of collecting 130,000 signatures on an online petition, making her the perfect candidate to star on the “Impossible is Nothing” campaign by Adidas.

Adidas also released a 30-second video as part of the inspirational campaign on Youtube:

Her victory is not just hers, it’s for every Muslim woman or girl who were previously denied their passion simply because they would not conform to the oppressive standards; it is beyond question that if anyone deserves the title “influencer”, it should be Asma Elbadawi. By choosing the sports activist to be the star of their new campaign, Adidas is also reaffirming the brand’s belief in inclusion and diversity while spreading awareness about the newest changes in the world of sports.
