Buckle up as Vin Diesel announces the release of Fast 10

Vin Diesel reveals the name of the Fast 10 movie.

Fast and Furious

It is no surprise that the Fast and Furious franchise is creating the 10th and most probably the last of the Fast films. For those who may be unfamiliar with the movie, the first-ever film – The Fast and the Furious – was released in 2001, and was the beginning of the Fast trilogy focused on cars, racing, family, crime, and action.

After the first one was released, chronologically, 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) then came out in cinemas, then Fast & Furious (2009), Fast & Furious 5 (2011), Fast & Furious 6 (2013), The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), Fast & Furious 7 (2015), Fast & Furious 8 (2017), and finally, Fast & Furious 9 (2021). The protagonists included Vin Diesel playing Domonic Toretto, Paul Walker – who sadly passed away and was unable to complete Fast 7 – played Brian O’Conner, Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto, Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz, Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce, and more.

The upcoming 10th installment of the film was announced on Vin Diesel’s Instagram page and is called Fast X. Diesel revealed the name on Wednesday 20th April captioning it ‘Day one…’ Today, he posted a very authentic, “behind the scenes” image of him hugging Paul and Jordana with a long caption saying:

‘Yes, Your opinion has always mattered. When the F10 script came in, it excluded Mia Toretto…. Someone whom I’ve attributed the brotherhood of Dom and Brian to… I was so disappointed that I couldn’t see how I could continue… After all, I wasn’t going to make another Fast unless Brian was back in Four… I don’t need to remind you of the petitions you sent the studio for Letty’s return at the the end of FIve. Side note, you will never believe who corrected the very important role of Mia… my daughter, the Alpha Angel, who told the director very plainly and honestly “NO MIA NO FAST 10!” haha. The irony, is that the day she was born I was filming with Jordanna and Pablo and it was Jordanna who I first told… profound right?
There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t want to turn back time, talk Pablo out of heading back to LA that thanksgiving weekend… every Fast film I make must at the core always honor my brother Pablo. In the real world, I will always look after his family, because in the real world he is family. When his daughter asked me to walk her down the isle… I tear up, and then do it with pride and and honor… when his mother asks me to bring Brian back to the screen… well, I don’t have to tell you how serious I take that. Fast could never have been here without the profound love and brotherhood between Dom and Brian, established in 2001. Yeah, I am talking too much, but damn, life is short and your comment touched me and hit a cord. Thank you for believing in me, in us… I won’t rest until I make you, him… and the universe proud.
All love, Always.’

It is no surprise that the news of Paul Walker passing away hit the cast hard having spent years working on the films together. Vin Diesel regularly posts images of Paul on his social media as a reminder of how much he was part of the film and part of his family.

The much-awaited Fast 10 movie will have mixed reviews as the last release featured cars falling out of planes with parachutes. What can we expect from Fast 10? Maybe they enter the Metaverse? Whether you love it or hate it, there is always an element of surprise in the movie that keeps us at the edge of our seats.

Fast X is said to hit the cinemas on the 19th May 2023 so sit back and enjoy the ride.
