Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover has caused some controversy causing celebrities and influencers to remove themselves from the app. With so many changes happening over a short period of time, Hollywood stars have cut this script short.
Shonda Rhimes
Shonda Rhimes, best known for creating Grey’s Anatomy and the popular Netflix show Bridgerton is just one among the many who has voiced her leave on Twitter. On the 29th, she tweeted to her 2 million followers, ‘Not hanging around for whatever Elon has planned. Bye.’

Toni Braxton
Unbreak my heart singer Toni Braxton told her followers how she felt about “free speech” on the platform.
I'm shocked and appalled at some of the "free speech" I've seen on this platform since its acquisition. Hate speech under the veil of "free speech" is unacceptable; therefore I am choosing to stay off Twitter as it is no longer a safe space for myself, my sons and other POC.

Mick Foley
Retired professional wrestler Mick Foley announced his break from Twitter. His motives were not because of the Elon Musk takeover, but feeling overwhelmed being on social media. He did say that he will still be active on Facebook and Instagram which makes us question whether he did remove himself from Twitter because of Musk.

Brian Koppelman
American author Brian Koppelman seemed frustrated by the Musk Twitter news saying Y’all’s, for real, come find me over instagram and the tok. Gonna really try to take a breather from here for a minute or a month come deal close time.
