At a time when the music and entertainment industries in the region are seeing historical growth, one Emirati artist emerged as a creative who is looking to represent the city and build a bridge with the rest of the world through his music, his name is Ezow. Growing up in Dubai and being exposed to music and hip-hop culture from an early age, Ezow used his knowledge of great artists from the past and present to develop the versatile sounds that we hear in his music today. Since the beginning of his music career, Ezow always made sure to present music that had top-tier production, catchy lines, and high-level quality that we would hear from big international artists.
This, along with his unique style, enabled Ezow to build a large following across different social media platforms with over 800k followers on his Instagram. His relentless ambition along with the efforts of his team at Dubai-based label VVIP means that there is no sign of him stopping anytime soon. His recent project “Concrete jungle” marked the release of his first EP and generated a buzz around the city. Today we sit down with Ezow to discuss his beginnings in music, his style, and his social media presence.
Which Artists Inspire You The Most?
I listen to many different genres. Hip Hop-wise, I can say, Drake, 50 Cent, Travis Scott, and Kanye West definitely inspire me. However, I am also inspired by Bring Me The Horizon and other bands from different genres.
What Is It Like Being an Emirati Rapper in Dubai?
I consider myself an artist, not just a rapper, Hip Hop music has always been controversial and can bring up many reactions from people. However, I am more focused on repping my city, building bridges overseas, and opening doors for anyone who wants to thrive.

I usually avoid falling into a routine. I have certain things I make sure I get done to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but I like the rest to flow in free form.
How Does Having a Social Media Presence and Audience Help With Your Career as a Music Artist?
Social media became an important tool in every artist’s career and I make sure to utilize the platforms I am on by connecting with my audience and pushing my music, back in the day artists had to physically push their tapes or go to radio stations, etc.
Today you make a song and you are one click away from the whole world, the term local artist is now fading because once you are on the internet you are open to everyone everywhere. That’s the power of social media and you have to learn to use it wisely.
Since the release of your first single “Pay Off” you’ve been able to amass a large following in a short period of time, what are your secrets to building a large following?
Pay Off is my debut single and video, produced by Billboard-charting producer Kato On The Track. The music video eclipsed 100k views on youtube in under a week, and the song was added to the global playlist. There are many ways to grow your following, but the most important one is to focus on doing what you do best, for me, I make music and that’s always been my priority.

What Is Your Goal From Your Instagram Activity, Is It To Promote Music, Showcase Your Style, Etc?
My First priority is to create good music and Instagram is a tool or let’s say a window for me to promote my music and share my journey.

You Recently Made a Song With Superstar PRZNT, How Did That Record Come About and Who Do You Want to Collaborate With Next?
We’ve known each other for a while and we decided to collaborate, we came up with “ Outside” and we received great feedback on it. As for the next collaboration I am currently working on a couple of projects that will be announced soon.
