Why was Jarvis banned?
Popular YouTuber FaZe Jarvis was given a lifetime penalty from playing the game Fortnite. This decision was made by the creators of the game, Epic Games after there were allegations of the gamer cheating and giving away cheating tips.
Jarvis then created an apology video explaining why he got the ban and the use of aimbots which is an in-game cheat allowing gamers to automatically aim at opponents and increase aim accuracy. You can see in the video that Jarvis gets upset by the situation, admitting to the allegations and apologising to his fans, followers, and creators of the game.
He said in the video “It’s obvious that I made a massive mistake. I would never think about doing anything like this again. You Know, when I was making those videos, I never thought about the consequences that could happen from me making those videos. I just thought about entertaining you guys.”
After releasing the heartfelt message publically, he deleted his video of him playing Fortnite while using the aimbots. The company Epic Games has a very strict policy on its website against cheating and using game bugs in its terms of service.
The video Jarvis uploaded is currently on 23 million views.
Statement from Epic Games
Epic Games sent a statement to the news platform CNN telling them “We have a zero-tolerance policy for the usage of cheat software. When people use aimbots or other cheat technologies to gain an unfair advantage, they ruin games for people who are playing fairly.” Although the YouTuber with 5.6 million followers was not the only one to be banned, his punishment was the most serious out of the other gamers.
YouTube Shorts – 2M Views
In a recent upload which has already generated over 2 million views, Jarvis keeps it short and sweet titling the video ‘IJust Got Unbanned From Fortnite.’ In the video, he said his “heart raced” as he picked up the controller to play the game agian for the first time. Jarvis also explained in the video that the “Fortnite update sends you back to 2005.” He said his followers or “the world” thought the “comeback would be impossible.” Even with warnings from his manager and Jarvis’ lawyers, he “couldn’t resist.”
After seeing Jarvis getting teary-eyed in his first video posting the news of his ban, everyone knew that this game was a special one to him. Jarvis even said in this recent video, this game was everything.”
