Q: Your song seems to have a strong storytelling value, what was the thought behind it?

“It is about 2 friends who do not come from big or influential backgrounds, and they get under the influence of bad habits like drinking and stealing. There was a crack in the friendship which was one-sided and happened because one friend was too quick to judge the other. I’d definitely summarize this too, “Don’t judge until you ask and understand”.”

Q: From storyboarding to production, how long did the song take to film?

“Pre-production took 1 week, shooting took us around 3-4 days, and post-production took 8 days, so say about 20 days!”

Q: As a singer, what was the best part of shooting this?

“The artist I collaborated with was as excited as I was, so that was definitely the best part. The conditions on-set were very hard as it was cold and we were shooting on a boat. But we still managed to do it and get the acting right despite the difficulties.”

Q: If not YouTube, which social media platform would you air this song on?

“The music video is already out everywhere and I feel that YouTube is the best way to show and promote music on.”

Q: Do you think social media has an impact on making content trend?

“Instead of saying social media has had a full impact on this music video becoming a hit, I’d say the people with who we collaborated helped make that happen. The TikToker in the video has a good reach so the right people sharing and being involved definitely helped the video to reach heights.”

Q: If you had the chance to collaborate with an international artist, who would it be?

“Locally, I would love to work Balqees Fathi in the future, and internationally, I would love to work with Drake. I like his storytelling ability and how he is able to reflect it in his videos. This project was mainly a warm-up for my YouTube album – we shot one video already and it’ll be out in March 2022!”
