As the market for AI-based software and apps continues to grow, Snapchat has just joined the club of companies that are implementing AI into their apps.
My AI Bot
“My AI“ is a new chatbot running the latest version of OpenAI’s GPT technology that has been “customized for Snapchat“. The chatbot is not as advanced as Chatgpt, however, it can be useful for generating simple solutions such as “recommending birthday gift ideas for your BFF, planning a hiking trip for a long weekend, suggesting a recipe for dinner, or even writing a haiku about cheese for your cheddar-obsessed pal,” Snapchat said in a blog post.
My AI can also act as a sort of “digital friend” whom users can have a casual chat with, they can even change the bot’s name and customize its wallpaper, making it their own.
“Please be aware of its many deficiencies and sorry in advance! All conversations with My AI will be stored and may be reviewed to improve the product experience. Please do not share any secrets with My AI and do not rely on it for advice,” Snap said.
“While My AI is designed to avoid biased, incorrect, harmful, or misleading information, mistakes may occur. Please press and hold on to any message from My AI to submit feedback. We look forward to hearing about your experience with My AI,” Snap added.
My AI bot launched in the US back in Feb, and it is now available in the region for users to interact with. Make sure to update your Snapchat app to the latest version and My AI will appear at the top of your chats.
