Elon Musk has made the change to Twitter’s logo today by marking it now with a black X.
Musk replaced the iconic blue bird that “tweets” with an X that he believes is described as the “everything app.” The billionaire tech giant made one of the most visible changes to Twitter since taking full control of the company and has been very vocal about certain changes.
In a tweet this morning, Musk said “and soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.” In just 24 hours later, the black and white X appeared on the social media platform, replacing the original Twitter symbol – the bluebird.

Elon Musk himself has also changed his X icon to the black and white logo, after adopting the new branding throughout the app. Twitter’s company headquarters illuminated overnight in San Francisco with the words “Lights. Camera. X!”
Prior to the changes, Musk spoke early Sunday morning on a Twitter audio livestream saying he was going to change the logo. He told viewers “It should have been done a long time ago” and continued with “Sorry it took so long.”
For those who have invested in the brand such as the banks who have given billions of dollars and the investors, this could cause concern. Twitter, or now X, faces a well-funded rival in Threads, a similar app that was introduced recently to the world.
Since Elon Musk took over the social media platform, there have been mixed views about the app and the policies he has introduced. Thousands of people have left the app including well-known celebrities, whereas others continue to see the benefits of the platform. Musk has had somewhat of an attachment to the letter X as in 1999, he co-founded an online bank called x.com, later merging it with PayPal.
The reaction on the platform has been balanced. Some find it difficult to acknowledge or accept the change, whereas others have embraced the new look.
twitter is always gonna be twitter to me idc if elon wants to change it to x

Dear @elonmusk is so sad and unnecessary that you decided to change a beautiful and valuable brand like Twitter for and dark and meaningless "X". Looks like you didn't know nothing about brand positioning. You know what? Not always you take the smartest decisions. 🤷

"X" is much better than "twitter". let's change the webpage at once. let https://t.co/LoOIwmr32p redirect to https://t.co/ZEIJuSha4N @elonmusk

It has definitely caused conversation online and a discussion between X users.
We all have a point of view on the changes of course. But eventually @elonmusk and team have to decide what works best given their long term roadmap and ambition for the platform. Wish them all the best. The world needs a platform like Twitter or X!
