Over the last week, the internet has erupted into confusion over NASA’s discovery of a ‘new zodiac sign’. Everyone from self-claimed astrologers to the people who run zodiac accounts on Instagram have been left quaking. Even the people who would just casually look at their horoscope or take a ‘Your star sign will tell us which bread you are’ quiz are dismayed.
Seriously, NASA? I've spent my entire life living like a lion, and now you tell me Leo was lie? * sigh *

I refuse to believe after 23 years of being an Aries, I’m now a Pisces due to a new Zodiac sign being found. What am I supposed to do develop a personality disorder ??

Glad to announce that due to changes in the zodiac I am now stepping down as a sagittarius and am now Ophiuchus. I will be radically adjusting my personality over the next few days to fit my new sign. I thank you all for your patience.

Before we get into the specifics, let’s get to know the latest member to the zodiac club. The 13th zodiac is based on a constellation known as Ophiuchus, The Serpent Bearer, falling between Nov 29th and Dec 17th. More importantly, the alleged personality traits are: Knowledge-seeking, admired, envied.
However, this is not actually new news. The Space Place article from NASA was actually released in 2016. Furthermore, the Babylonians already knew about the presence of a 13th constellation over 3,000 years ago but chose to leave one out to fit their 12-month calendar (based on the moon). To top it all off, in a statement to Gizmodo, NASA spokesperson Dwayne Brown said “We didn’t change any any Zodiac signs, we just did the math. The Space Place article was about how astrology is not astronomy.”
So, zodiac lovers, you can all relax. Your star sign will remain the same; you don’t need to change your entire personality to fit your new sign. If you’re a Cancer, you’re still a Cancer, not a Gemini. For those of you who are still curious about which constellation was present when you were born, here are the new dates:
Aries: April 18 – May 13
Taurus: May 13 – June 21
Gemini: June 21 – July 20
Cancer: July 20 – Aug 10
Leo: Aug 10 – Sept 16
Virgo: Sept 16 – Oct 30
Libra: Oct 30 – Nov 23
Scorpio: Nov 23 – Nov 29
Ophiuchus: Nov 29 – Dec 17
Sagittarius: Dec 17 – Jan 20
Capricorn: Jan 20 – Feb 16
Aquarius: Feb 16 – March 11
Pisces: March 11 – April 18
Are you gonna take on your new zodiac sign?
