James Charles Apologizes...Again

As much as James Charles is admired for his makeup and beauty expertise and larger-than-life personality, you have to admit that keeping up with his antics and subsequent apologies is a hard task.

Charles along with other influencers such as the D’Amelio sisters and Tana Mongeau came under fire after they were seen attending a party at the Hype House in Los Angeles in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic and while California, especially, is currently experiencing an unprecedented increase in infections.

Videos of the party show the crowded house and lines of people waiting to be let in.

Charles acknowledged it three days later in his “Day in the Life” video from the day of the party. The party footage was cut out and replaced with a note reading, “Even though I have been wearing a mask in public and have tested negative multiple times, going to a party during a pandemic was a selfish and stupid decision. People’s safety and keeping COVID-19 contained is FAR more important that celebrating a [friend’s] birthday and unsafe partying is not something I want to promote to my audience.”

Charles is of course, no stranger to controversy and at this point he is used to issuing apologies for ‘bad behavior.’ While the other influencers also faced backlash for choosing to attend a crowded party during a pandemic, it’s important to recognize that at the time of their actions, they were definitely aware of what they were taking part in.

Being under a microscope and having a massive platform does come with its ups and downs, but during such times, influencers should definitely be held accountable for their actions considering the amount of ‘influence’ they have especially on the younger generation.

Some fans, did not buy the apology, as you can imagine..

Do you think influencers should be more mindful of what they publicly take part in?
