Dr Disrespect banned from twitch? No need to worry YouTube has his back!

Guy “Dr Disrepect” Beahm, was banned unexpectedly from Twitch in June. On Friday, he held his first in-person stream since the ban on YouTube, and the stream peaked at over 500,000 viewers at one point.

In Dr Disrespect’s statement about the ban he said, “as far as I’m concerned, we didn’t do anything to warrant a ban, let alone how they went about banning us.” He went on further to say, “no communication before. No reaching out. Nothing. Boom. Done.”

Dr. Disrespect was one of Twitch’s most profitable and popular streamers, they gave no specific reasoning behind the ban. He has consistently stated in interviews with CNN, the Washington Post and PC Gamer that he really has no idea why he has been banned.

In an interview with Washington Post regarding the ban on July 16, Beahm said his legal and publicity teams have limited what he can say and that legal action against Twitch is being considered.

Before his return to streaming he went on Instagram Live as well as Twitter after not using the platform since mid-July to prepare his fans for his return. He first posted a video with no context that reached over 8.3 million views.

He returned back to Twitter on August 7th saying, “Tomorrow, we arrive” with a link to his YouTube channel. He followed with another tweet saying “a new journey begins” once again attaching a link to his YouTube channel.

He may have lost revenue while he was offline, but after his stream on YouTube and raking up over half a million viewers and receiving hefty donations, he will most definitely be making it up now.

Do you think Dr Disrespect will replace Twitch with YouTube?
